A Business Idea

While walking through town tonight, I suddenly had an idea for a business. I think it’s a good idea and will hopefully be successful, as it combines two separate ideas that work individually and is based on sound business principles. Anyway, back to my story. As I was walking through town, I walked past a store selling useless crap. The exact uselessness of the crap in this particular store is largely irrelevant to my story (ok I give up – it’s Christmas decorations) – the fact remains that this store is somehow able to stay in business despite the fact that the average person has absolutely no use for the shit for sale in that particular retail operation. That, or the store is really a drug front. Anyway, assuming that they’re able to stay solvent legally, I am clearly underestimating the retail force of Useless Shit. This isn’t the only store like this, either. We’ve all seen them and maybe asked ourselves “Why would I ever need that? Who shops there? How do they stay in business?”

Clearly there are people somewhere who are into buying this crap. We also know that ‘super-store’ style places (Walmart, Home Depot, Costco) have become quite popular over the last decade or so. My idea is to combine these two facts by starting a super-store of crap. Think about it – a one stop shopping paradise of pointless items. It would be a smash success! Nothing that the store would sell would actually be anything anyone would ever need, but that’s irrelevant in this day and age as most people have trouble differentiating between ‘need’ and ‘want’ anyway. They don’t need it, but if it’s on sale than they’ll be reaching for that six-pack of Useless Crap! Low prices and wide selection would be our specialty. Mark my words – you will not find a store anywhere with more stuff that you have absolutely no use for!

I could open a store selling things that people actually need, but there is already too much competition in these fields. Crappies, coming to a location near you! It can’t fail, unless I decide to sit around surfing the internet instead.

Speaking of crap, check this out.

This could be a fake, but if it is then someone definitely put some hardwork into it.

Further proof that too many people don't have enough common sense.

Now for two news articles that even I couldn't make up. First, an avalanche and a lot of beer. Next, a different kind of amazing article - imagine the government told you that you HAD to become a prostitute. Those wacky Germans...

Nice concept, but these stores already exist, they are called Dollar Stores. Cheap Crap by the crate load.
